1. Your class has attended a panel discussion on how governments can encourage people to lead healthier lives. You have made the notes below. Which measure would do more to improve public health? Notes • taxes on unhealthy food • free sports facilities • health education in schools Some opinions expressed in the discussion: "People resent being told what they can and can't eat." "If the gym cost nothing, far more of us would go." "Most of our habits are formed before we're twelve." Write an essay discussing two of the points in your notes. You should explain which measure would do more to improve public health, giving reasons in support of your answer.
